Othello is already free, and it’s the outdoor theatre event of the year, taking place right on Boston Common (8pm). But as a press guy I have one guest pass for sitting right up front. Also, I have tickets to see The Other Guys, the new Will Ferrell comedy (7pm, but come early). Both on Wednesday! I also have free tickets (a onesie and a twosie) for A-Team, the parody at ImprovBoston this Friday. Also free movie preview tix for Takers on Sunday in Boston.Email me!

Davis MegaMaze Opens & Magician Weekend 8/5 – 8/8 Worcester
The event of the week is that my favorite midsized amusement park is opening its corn maze! It’s the biggest and best outdoor maze in New England, with over 3 miles of pathways, and it’s across the street from apple picking, a petting zoo, a water spray park, hay rides, and they’re also having magicians come, apparently!

Also the event of the week is this huge re-enactment of 300 years of military history at my favorite re-enactment museum. I’ve seen it and it’s HIGHLY recommended! They’ll have a parade, fife & drum, camp cooking, cannon demo, kids activities.

New England Haunter’s Gathering 8/7 New Hampshire
Boston's Events Insider, by Johnny Monsarrat
If you like Halloween waaaaay too much, you have to start getting ready early. This convention is for people who run “haunts”, private homes for trick-or-treating that go all-out with special effects. I want to see the robotic gadgets! Unfortunately, if the website is any indication, it will be a low glitz event.
Radisson Hotel, Nashua, NH.
