Boston Massacre Re-enactment, Robots, Bacon Eating, Maple Sugar, & LARPing

I’m starting a new thing of using a better subject line. A couple of updates: I just applied for an arts grant for a funky community project, check it out, and I am looking for an apartment, but I can only handle living with creative, brilliant, weird event people who love life. Zip me a note at johnny@weirdbostonevents.org.

Here’s your week in weird. Enjoy it! Want this weekly? Please subscribe.

Putting their cultural emphasis on learning and debate on the line will be the “finest scholars” at MIT debating over the merits of two Jewish foods that the rest of us have never heard of. But they’ll serve samples! It seems to be free! Free food, people! I don’t care if they serve gefilte fish, if it’s free, I’m there. 8-9pm.

InterCon (LARP) Mar 6 – Mar 8 Northern Mass
This theatre is experimental, too. It’s called live roleplaying, and basically means there is no audience. The audience joins the cast for a massive improv drama that spans an entire hotel and can be comedy, drama, horror, mystery, fantasy, or any genre. It’s completely unique and this is the biggest and best convention in our region for LARPing. See the website and sign up for games in advance.

Boston’s Rock Fetish Night & Fashion Show Mar 6 Boston Metro
Also geeky, um, but for geeks with fashion sense, is this fetish-themed event that will draw the curious among you in, with strangely normal rock music, a fantastic venue — I’ve seen it! — and fashion models.

And with no attempt at a segue — but at least I can spell segue! — They actually have a spelling bee for adults! It’s too late to sign up, but show up and root them on. There will also “bee” a children’s spelling contest.
