I’m starting a new thing of using a better subject line. A couple of updates: I just applied for an arts grant for a funky community project, check it out, and I am looking for an apartment, but I can only handle living with creative, brilliant, weird event people who love life. Zip me a note at johnny@weirdbostonevents.org.
Here’s your week in weird. Enjoy it! Want this weekly? Please subscribe.

Survival of the Swiftest, Smartest, or Fattest? Human Evolution 150 Years After Darwin | Mar 5 | Boston Metro
They’re still not quite done celebrating Darwin. What is it with this guy? It’s not like he’s Jesus Christ, who deserves 5 weeks from Thanksgiving to New Year’s. MIT Annual Latke-Hamentashen Debate | Mar 4 | Boston Metro
Putting their cultural emphasis on learning and debate on the line will be the “finest scholars” at MIT debating over the merits of two Jewish foods that the rest of us have never heard of. The audience joins the cast for a massive improv drama that spans an entire hotel and can be comedy, drama, horror, mystery, fantasy, or any genre. It’s completely unique and this is the biggest and best convention in our region for LARPing. See the website and sign up for games in advance. Chelmsford, MA. more |
